Yes. Portraits, flyaway hair, pets and products on plain or busy backgrounds usually come out cleanly. Transparent or semi-transparent objects such as glass may not be preserved perfectly. Smoke, motion blur and subjects that match the background colour are harder too — check the edges before you use the result. Browsers without graphics acceleration use a compatibility mode that is slower and less precise on hair.

No. The removal happens on your device. Your photo, its file name and its location details are never sent to our server.

PNG keeps transparency, so the background stays see-through when you place the image on a website, slide or document. JPG can't store transparent areas.

Background removal runs entirely inside your browser. The first time, your browser downloads the background-removal model (about 115–180 MB) and keeps it for next time. Your photo is never uploaded — only the model comes from the internet.

Input: JPG, PNG and WebP up to 25 MB and 50 megapixels. Output: PNG with a transparent background, or with a white, black or custom colour.
